⚠️ A Parent's Warning: Our GlassesUSA Nightmare & The Critical Flaw You MUST Know!
I'm writing this to warn other parents about my terrible online shopping experience with GlassesUSA. We ordered glasses for our 12-year-old, but he couldn't see properly with them. A trip back to the doctor confirmed the pupil distance (PD) was wrong. It turns out, their site doesn't prompt you for this crucial number and just assumes a value. My conclusion is that "the glassesusa site does not prompt you to provide the PD number, and if you don’t know to provide it, they will just assume a value…Of course, that means the value will be wrong for many buyers." After discovering this major error and the immense difficulty in getting help, I felt I had to try and get through to their customer service.
Customer: Hello? I ordered glasses for my son, and they're completely wrong. His doctor confirmed you used an incorrect pupil distance. Your website never even asked for it!
CS Rep: I am so sorry to hear about the issue with your son's glasses and the frustration this has caused. You are correct that the PD is essential, and I apologize that our ordering process was not clear.
Customer: Not clear? It's a huge oversight. He can't wear these. I've been trying to reach a real person for days. Do you just guess everyone's measurements?
CS Rep: I understand your frustration, and I sincerely apologize for the difficulty you've had contacting us. We can absolutely remake the lenses with the correct PD at no charge. Do you have the correct PD measurement from your doctor?
Customer: Yes, I have it now. But I've read I have to send these back first, leaving my son with no glasses while we wait. Is that true?
CS Rep: That is our standard policy, but I understand the situation. Once you ship the return and the tracking number is active, I will personally expedite the processing of your new order to minimize the waiting time.
The reason I left this review on the website is to hopefully prevent others from falling into the same trap.
